Two watercolours

Enjoying a return to watercolour painting. Here are two very different studies: Pink Camellia amongst the daffodils and Landacre, River Barle, Exmoor. Both painted as freely and loosely as my ability allows.

Two snow paintings

Here are two watercolours of snow scenes; some old barns near Exmoor and George Nympton Church. The key is to make sure there are some strong darks to light up the snow. Both of these were painted as quickly and loosely as my level of ability allowed.

Two fast watercolours

Here are two quickly painted scenes- by quickly I mean as bold as I can, first wash quickly and confidently applied. Two very different days; a broody, cloudy, showery and windy day for the Windmill at Rye, East Sussex and a bright, clear day with the odd threat of a shower at St John’s Point, Donegal.,
