The Croyde series

Had a lovely week on the beautiful North Devon coast recently with the grandchildren. Croyde is renowned as a great place for surfers and the Ruda holiday park has everything for a childhood holiday. It’s also a great area for the artist. I have a whole series planned. Here are the first two- a watercolour and an oil.

Two recent paintings

Here’s a watercolour of the Connemara mountains and an oil of the calm early morning light you can sometimes see over the Exe Estuary in Devon where I live.

Two watercolours

Enjoying a return to watercolour painting. Here are two very different studies: Pink Camellia amongst the daffodils and Landacre, River Barle, Exmoor. Both painted as freely and loosely as my ability allows.

Two more oils

I attended another brilliant Hester Berry workshop in Braunton (North Devon) recently where we painted a view of the Burrows. After being inspired by Hester I then painted a sunrise over the Exe Estuary in Topsham where I live (from one of many photos taken in the early morning . This one was from a photo taken last October).
