The Croyde series

Had a lovely week on the beautiful North Devon coast recently with the grandchildren. Croyde is renowned as a great place for surfers and the Ruda holiday park has everything for a childhood holiday. It’s also a great area for the artist. I have a whole series planned. Here are the first two- a watercolour and an oil.

Two recent paintings

Here’s a watercolour of the Connemara mountains and an oil of the calm early morning light you can sometimes see over the Exe Estuary in Devon where I live.

Watercolour inspiration

It has been wonderful to spend two days this week with the original source of my inspiration, John Hoar, the great watercolour painter. It’s been over two years because of the pandemic. Guess what? He’s still great and being guided by him is still a great pleasure. Here are four products from the two days.
